There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing your work contribute to a client’s success — especially when that success is recognized publicly through awards and industry acknowledgment. As a photographer, my goal is always to create images that serve a purpose. When those images help elevate a project beyond marketing materials and into award-winning territory, that’s incredibly fulfilling.
Recently, Terry Peterson Companies (TPC) received The Coasties Award for their housing development project in Suffolk, Virginia and they build all over the area. I’m honored that the photography I created was used as part of their official submission and promotional efforts surrounding the project. Knowing that my images played a role in helping present the craftsmanship, scale, and vision of the development to judges and stakeholders is something I take great pride in.
Award submissions demand more than simple documentation — they require imagery that clearly communicates design intent, execution, atmosphere, and overall impact. Every line, material, and perspective matters. My role was to capture the Coasties project in a way that reflected not only its architectural strength but also the quality and professionalism behind it.
Projects like this reinforce why I love being a Norfolk Commercial Photographer serving Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and the greater Hampton Roads region. Working alongside builders, developers, and commercial teams to visually represent their hard work — and seeing that representation contribute to real-world recognition — is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do.
Located in Suffolk, Virginia, the Coasties development is a project that blends thoughtful design, functionality, and strong architectural presence. Capturing the essence of the space required more than documentation — it required storytelling.
From exterior perspectives that highlight scale and setting to detailed architectural shots that showcase materials and craftsmanship, my goal was to create imagery that accurately reflected the integrity of the project.
When photographing commercial or architectural developments like Coasties, I focus on:

High-quality commercial photography helps:
Showcase craftsmanship and design intent
Highlight scale, innovation, and functionality
Reinforce brand professionalism
Elevate marketing materials and press releases
Strengthen award and recognition submissions
In this case, I’m honored that Terry Peterson Companies trusted my work to represent their project at that level — and even more excited that the project received the recognition it deserved.
As a Norfolk Commercial Photographer, I regularly work with:
Whether it’s a finished development like Coasties in Suffolk or a large-scale project in Norfolk or Virginia Beach, I approach every shoot with a strategic mindset:
How will these images be used? Marketing? Leasing? Awards? Press? Investment decks?
When we photograph with purpose, the images work harder for your business.
Winning projects deserve imagery that reflects the level of work that went into them. My role is to ensure that:
