As a licensed FAA Part 107 drone pilot and Norfolk commercial photographer, I'm always looking for opportunities to tell the stories behind the businesses that keep our communities moving. While many people associate commercial photography with offices, architecture, or corporate events, some of the most compelling stories are found inside manufacturing facilities, fabrication shops, industrial plants, and production environments.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph and produce video content for The Knapheide Manufacturing Company during a project in North Carolina. The assignment reinforced something I've believed throughout my career—industrial photography isn't simply about documenting equipment or facilities. It's about showcasing craftsmanship, innovation, skilled professionals, and the processes that drive a business forward.
Whether I'm photographing a manufacturing facility in North Carolina or creating imagery for businesses throughout Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, Hampton Roads, and Coastal Virginia, my goal remains the same: create compelling commercial photography, architectural photography, drone imagery, and video that strengthen a company's brand and support its marketing objectives.
Manufacturing and industrial companies invest countless hours designing products, refining processes, maintaining quality standards, and developing talented teams.
Unfortunately, many businesses rely on outdated photography—or no professional imagery at all—to communicate that value.
Professional industrial photography changes that.
Rather than simply documenting machinery or production lines, I focus on creating imagery that communicates:
These photographs become powerful marketing assets that help customers, partners, investors, and prospective employees understand what makes a company different.
One of the biggest advantages I offer clients through Glenn Bashaw Photographer is the ability to create a complete visual library using multiple forms of media.
For the Knapheide project, the assignment included both still photography and video, allowing the story to unfold from several perspectives.
Ground photography captures:
Drone photography adds another dimension by showcasing:
Video then brings everything together by capturing movement, workflow, and the energy that still images alone cannot fully convey.
Together, these elements provide businesses with a comprehensive collection of marketing assets that can be used across virtually every platform.
Industrial businesses often focus their marketing efforts on the products they manufacture.
But today's buyers also want to know who they're doing business with.
Professional photography builds confidence by showing:
These images communicate professionalism before a conversation ever begins.
In today's competitive marketplace, strong visual content isn't just helpful—it's expected.
One of the things I enjoy most about being a licensed FAA Part 107 drone pilot and Norfolk commercial photographer is the opportunity to work with businesses in a wide range of industries, both locally and beyond. While I'm based in Norfolk, Virginia, my commercial photography assignments regularly take me throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and wherever my clients need me.
My recent project with The Knapheide Manufacturing Company in North Carolina is a great example of how I'm able to travel to document manufacturing facilities, industrial operations, commercial architecture, and corporate environments. Every business has a unique story, and I enjoy creating photography and video that showcase the people, processes, and facilities that make each company successful.
Industrial and commercial photography provides tremendous value for businesses across many industries, including:
Showcase production capabilities, advanced equipment, skilled employees, and product quality while building credibility with customers, distributors, and business partners.
Document completed projects, fabrication work, installations, heavy equipment, and infrastructure while creating powerful marketing assets for proposals, websites, and promotional materials.
Highlight innovation, technical expertise, specialized equipment, vehicle fleets, and operational capabilities through professional photography that simplifies complex industries and builds confidence with prospective clients.
Develop a versatile library of professional photography and video for websites, social media, recruiting campaigns, annual reports, public relations, presentations, and internal communications.
Whether the assignment involves industrial manufacturing, commercial architecture, aerial drone photography, branding imagery, or corporate storytelling, I'm always excited to travel wherever the story leads. Every project offers the opportunity to meet talented professionals, experience new industries, and create compelling visual content that helps businesses showcase their expertise and strengthen their brand.
Whether it's a manufacturing plant, distribution center, corporate headquarters, or industrial campus, your facility represents far more than the place where business happens. It reflects your company's investment in quality, innovation, and long-term success. The appearance of your buildings and operations often shapes a customer's first impression long before they ever step inside.
I approach industrial facilities with both architectural and marketing objectives in mind. Professional photography highlights the design, scale, engineering, operational flow, and craftsmanship that distinguish your business, while aerial drone photography places those facilities into context by showcasing the surrounding property, infrastructure, fleet operations, and overall footprint.
Together, architectural photography, drone imagery, and video create a comprehensive visual library that becomes one of your company's most valuable marketing assets. These images support far more than a single project—they provide content for your website, social media, recruitment campaigns, trade show displays, sales presentations, annual reports, public relations, investor communications, and corporate marketing materials.
Professional visual content isn't simply an expense—it's an investment that continues to generate value long after the photography session is complete. Strong imagery builds credibility, reinforces your brand, helps differentiate your company from competitors, and gives prospective customers confidence in your capabilities before the first conversation ever takes place.
For businesses competing in today's marketplace, investing in professional commercial photography isn't just about documenting your facility—it's about showcasing the quality, expertise, and professionalism that set your organization apart.
Every industrial facility has a story.
Every manufacturing process reflects years of expertise.
Every building represents an investment in growth.
As a licensed FAA Part 107 drone pilot and Norfolk commercial photographer, I help businesses tell those stories through professional commercial photography, industrial photography, architectural photography, aerial drone imagery, and cinematic video that connect with customers, partners, investors, and future employees.
Whether your next project is in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton Roads, North Carolina, or anywhere across the East Coast, I'm ready to travel to your location and create commercial photography, architectural photography, drone imagery, and video that showcase your business from every angle and strengthen your brand.
